Before Your Visit

We're located inside the RunAsYouAre shop at 2033 West 4th Ave in Vancouver.
Check in at the front counter when you arrive.
Please arrive 15 minutes early so you have time to check in, change if needed, and store your things before we begin.
Wear what you'd normally run or train in. Shorts or tights, a tank or t-shirt. Ideally nothing too loose so we can easily see your movement. Bring your current running shoes if possible.
Yes. You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before your session. Changes within 24 hours may be subject to a late cancellation fee.

What to Expect During Your Assessment

Your physio will score how your body moves, how you absorb impact, generate bounce, and maintain stability. You'll go through strength and movement tests like:
  • Bodyweight squats
  • Jumping
  • Single-leg balance drills
  • Mobility screens
  • Gait and posture checks
No. This is not a workout, but you'll move through a series of tests. Some people get lightly sweaty, especially in the treadmill session. Dress comfortably.
Only in the 90-minute assessment. The 60-minute version is off-treadmill.
Yes. Your physio will explain everything being tested and how it connects to your goals. Questions are encouraged.

What You Get After the Session

You'll receive:
  1. Your Score: 0–100 for Absorb, Bounce, Stability
  2. Your Plan: an exercise program to improve how you move so you can run better and a progress plan to reach your goals
  3. Your Match: the shoe recommendations that best supports your movement

All of this is shared with you after your session.
  • Your Score results.
  • Recommended shoes based on your Score.
  • You'll get a shoe recommendation to take to RunAsYouAre, where their team will help you try it on and find the right size.
You'll receive your Match at the end of your assessment. It's based on your Score and identifies the type of shoe that best supports your movement.

Trying on shoes happens after your session, with a RunAsYouAre footwear specialist. This is a separate step from your RunReady session. So make sure to include extra time if you want to complete it during the same visit.
It's best to purchase them from RunAsYouAre. Every shoe in-store is graded by the RunReady system. Their run specialists can access your Score, pull matched options, and fit you properly. Buying from RunAsYouAre ensures:
  • The shoes are graded.
  • Your Match is accurate.
  • The fitting process follows your plan.
  • Your Score, shoes, and exercise program work best when they're kept together.
Not always. If your current shoes already match your movement needs, you can keep using them. If not, the RunAsYouAre team will walk you through your options.
Yes. Everything is shared with you after each session. You can log in anytime to review your Score, your Match, and your exercise plan.

RunReady Sessions

No. Your first session gives you a starting Score, but most runners need approx 3 to 5+ sessions to hit their goals. You'll follow your personalized RunReady plan to improve your mobility, strength, and adaptability.
We highly recommend booking a follow-up after your first session. Your plan is designed to improve over time, not in one visit. Follow-ups let us retest your Score, update your exercises, and keep your progress moving toward your goal. The runners who see the best results are the ones who stick to the full plan.

Is the RunReady Assessments For Me?

This is for runners who want to understand how their body moves so they can run better because of it. Whether you're building mileage, starting fresh, or want running to feel easier and more consistent, this session helps you build the foundation.

You'll get a Score across Absorb, Bounce, and Stability, plus a plan to improve mobility, strength, and control over time.
This is for runners who want a deeper breakdown of how they move, using treadmill analysis to track stride mechanics and left–right balance in real time. It includes everything from the 60-minute session, with an added Symmetry Score that shows how evenly you absorb and push off from each side.

You'll get a Score across Absorb, Bounce, Stability, and Symmetry, plus a plan to improve mobility, strength, control, and stride balance to help you train more precisely and perform at a higher level.
Yes. Race prep starts with your 90-minute assessment, but real progress comes from following your plan and booking follow-ups. We'll give you the data on how your body moves, where your imbalances are, and what needs to improve, then track your Score as you build toward race day.

Your sessions are designed to improve how you handle impact, push off, and stay stable so you can train efficiently and lower your risk of injury.
